Welcome to the Fishermens Petroleum Co
Fishermen’s Petroleum Co (FPC) was incorporated in Scotland in March 1980 to enable fishermen to participate in the UK Seventh Licensing Round.
The company quickly expanded following the issue of a Prospectus to members of the fishing industry, a “one for one” rights issue and the development of a relationship with Kerr McGee Oil (UK) PLC in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. The company has since become involved in developments in both the Gulf of Mexico and mainland USA including a successful agency agreement with McKenny Energy, Oklahoma City.
Jim McKenny is agent (Attorney-in-Fact) for FPC and manages its US properties. He is President of JCM Exploration, Inc. and Vice President of McKenny Energy Company, LLC.
The Company’s present assets are based in the USA.
The company’s main US assets are its Working interests in
The Justin field an ongoing Barnett shale gas development project in Denton County, Texas approximately 20 miles west of Dallas and
The Cimarron project located in Logan County, Oklahoma. It is part of the Mississippian limestone horizontal play, one of the largest plays in Oklahoma and one of the better in the US because of its high oil productivity and relatively low drilling and completion costs. This is a combination play producing both oil and gas.
Other activities in the US include the Green Canyon Overriding Royalty Interest (ORI), offshore Gulf of Mexico and working interests in a number of small fields in Oklahoma - BF 2&3 (its first acquisition), Kleckner and Harrison.
ORIs are also held in the Vernon gas field, Louisiana and the LBJ prospect in the North Texas Barnett 'Combo" play, which saw continued activity during 2012.
